Hare Krishna everyone, we had our 63rd Bhakti Vriksha class on Friday 01/06/2017 conducted by HG Gadadhar Pandit Prabhu at Amit Prabhu and Ekta Mataji home and below are the points related to Verse 2.65 and 2.66 we discussed.
BG 2.65
prasāde sarva-duḥkhānāṁ hānir asyopajāyate
prasanna-cetaso hy āśu buddhiḥ paryavatiṣṭhate
BG 2.66
nāsti buddhir ayuktasya na cāyuktasya bhāvanā
na cābhāvayataḥ śāntir aśāntasya kutaḥ sukham
- In Verse 2.65 the supreme personality of Godhead said; For one thus satisfied [in Kṛṣṇa consciousness], the threefold miseries of material existence exist no longer; in such satisfied consciousness, one’s intelligence is soon well established.
- In Verse 2.66 the supreme personality of Godhead said; One who is not connected with the Supreme [in Kṛṣṇa consciousness] can have neither transcendental intelligence nor a steady mind, without which there is no possibility of peace. And how can there be any happiness without peace?
- The context of this verse is Krishna is answering Arjuna’s question on how a self realized person acts.
- Almost all the time we are bothered by one of the three fold miseries. The three fold miseries are: a.) Miseries caused by nature (Adhidaivika). (this is easiest to deal with).
- b.) Miseries caused by other living entity(Adhibhautika ). (this is a bit difficult than first one)
- c.) Miseries caused by mind and body(Ādhyātmika ). (this is the toughest to deal with).
- Some people may say that this is pessimistic thinking, and we are always thinking negative.
- But this is the truth; something is always bothering us, if we do not accept it then we are not acknowledging the problem.
- If we accept it then we are in better position to deal with the miseries.
- The one who is divinely situated these miseries don’t bother that person and his/her mind becomes controlled and intelligence becomes steady.
- Without transcendental consciousness one cannot control mind. In chapter 6 Arjuna says to control mind is almost impossible because the mind is very turbulent just like the wind which cannot be controlled by anyone.
- Mind is like an entire universe which is constantly working beyond our control, so how to control the mind.
- How did mind become so crazy? We don’t know yet but as soon as we entered this material world the mind became crazy. We are in process of rehabilitation.
- Everyone wants peace; the only people seeking for peace are the Hare Krishnas. The only way we can have peace is by connecting with God.
- Without peace how can there be any happiness. Control mind will give steady intelligence then we get peace and thru peace we get happiness.
- If one is not in Krishna consciousness then there is no ultimate goal, the disturbance in mind is due to want of an ultimate goal.
- The material life goal keeps on changing which leads to disturbance in mind.
- Imagine on a soccer field if someone keeps on moving the goal; this will lead to frustration and anger.
- In Krishna consciousness we have a goal, it may be far but we do have a goal that is to meet Krishna who is waiting for us at the other end. This is a very satisfying goal knowing that someone is actually waiting for us at the other end to meet us.
- We generally think that we are the enjoyer, controller and proprietor but if we know Krishna is the enjoyer, controller and proprietor of everything then we can aim to be with Him.
- Krishna consciousness is a self manifested peaceful condition which can be achieved only in relationship with Krishna.
- The tendency to love Krishna is already there. It comes out of us when we actually engage in process of devotional service.
- Just have the determination to chant few rounds on daily basis. Are we happy with living in illusion? Are we happy going thru the sufferings of mind and body? Are we happy with uncertainty that is there in the world?
- Without practicing Krishna consciousness our faith won’t develop in Krishna and if our faith doesn’t develop in Krishna then we would think that we are controller of our destiny.
- There are so many ways to practice Krishna consciousness ; try to come for this class every Friday, go to Tovaco or bhakti center on weekend, chant rounds on daily basis, offer something to Krishna on daily basis , read Bhagwad Gita for 5 minutes, listen to Kirtan or lecture.
- Question and answer
Q1 . What does self manifest love for Krishna in us mean?
Answer – It means the love for Krishna is by default there in our heart it like a seed if nurtured properly the love for Krishna will grown and we will be able to build a relationship with Krishna.
Q2 . Sometimes some people come in our life and we wonder why this person came in my life,?
Answer – We can take it in two ways,
1.) it may be because of our Karma in previous life that made this person enter in my life and cause these miseries or happiness in our life and 2nd is Krishna sent this person to me so that I can grow; usually when difficult people come in our life we really mature a lot and without those difficult people we will still be immature. “Good people helps us go thru life and challenging people help us grown thru life”.
Thanks all for coming!!
Thanks to all matajis for sumptuous prasadam.
